So I recently bought Legend of Grimrock off of the Gog.com website ... excellent choice!
I played on the early black and yellow DOS pc games as a child (Wheel of Fortune!) but watching my dad play Eye of the Beholder by Westwood Studios was when I understood Video = Awesomeness. I greatly cherish the memories sitting on the floor, watching him pen out his own maps on that computer paper that zig-zagged which side you had to tear them on (I hated that). Anyways, Westwood rocked my little kid world and will always hold a special place in my heart for that. When I was in junior High School Nox came out, also by Westwood (right before Electronic Arts did them in, may they RIP) and it was, and is, one of my favorite games.
Coming back to Legend of Grimrock, it is basically an attractive ode to Eye of the Beholder - it is well done and quite fun. To further the homage to Westwood I have taken most (if not quite all) of the NPC profile pictures from Nox and photoshoped them to work with Legend of Grimrock.
Maybe I'll upload the individual portrait files for other people to use later ... and .... Just did :)
